Non-Traditional Halloween Colors

This past weekend was long.
My very favorite cousin got married on Sunday in the Dallas area, 6 hours away from where I live.
My mom and his mom are sisters so naturally we had to be there on Saturday to help my aunt with the rehearsal dinner, a rehearsal dinner that had 150 people in attendance. Various members of my family were helping to serve the food in the line and at one point one of the bride's cousins said 'do you work at Macaroni Grill (who catered)?' My mom just laughed and said 'nope, just the groom's aunt.' Lol, yeah, long weekend. Now, regardless of how tired I am, the wedding and all the included festivities were really beautiful and the bride is a beautiful person inside and out who is without a doubt the best thing to have ever happened to my cousin. She is the flowery, artsy, fun personality to his mathematical, technical mind. :)
I'll probably post a congratulations card for them soon, I figure I have a little bit of time since they just left for their honeymoon today!

Anyway, I have one last Halloween card to share.
Instead of the typical orange and green and black, I went with pink and green a black! I thought it was a bit more fun.

For this I used:
The image is from The Paper Shelter.
She is colored with Copics.
All the papers except the glittery spiderwebs are DCWV, and the spiderwebs are Cloud 9 Designs.
The sentiment is K Andrew Designs inked with Memento Tuxedo Black.
The gems are Recollections.

This week's challenge at Stamping with the Dragon is Anything But a Card!
Too fun, right?

For this challenge I made a box and I fully intended on making candy to put in it.. Sadly I have not been able to get to the candy making yet :(

I was going to make apple candy. Hopefully I can get to it this weekend.

The other two sides are the same with the apple on the fold side and Penny on the other.

For this I used:
The image is Penny's apples from Stamping Dragon Designs.
She is colored with Copics and ProMarkers.
The box is from the Sweet Tooth Boxes cart.

Happy Birthday to my Dad!!

I totally almost forgot it was my dad's birthday... I didn't remember until my mom texted my sister and me asking if we were free to go to dinner. So I ran to the store and got him a cd he had been talking about and then hurried home to make a card!
Honestly I don't really have many manly images, stamps or Cricut cuts. Then I remembered that on the Create a Critter 2 cart there's a Father's Day page with golfing on it, and my dad actually goes golfing every weekend!!

I've had them for a while but have never used them, so I thought it would be fun to put an action wobble under the bear! It doesn't wobble exactly right, I didn't balance it under the bear properly. But, still fun and it made my dad laugh!

On this I used:
The bear and the putting green are Create a Critter 2.
The bear is set on an action wobble.
The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Paper Wild Horses set inked with Memento Tuxedo Black.
All the papers are from my scraps stash!

Cutesy Halloween!

It feels like I haven't been on in FOREVER, although in reality it's just been a couple days. The last few days have been a little rushed because I've been playing catch up since I was without my computer for a couple days. It never fails to surprise me how often I'm on the computer, and then maybe more, how much I need to use because there's quite a few things I can't do on my phone or iPad.

On top of that my favorite cousin is getting married this weekend so I have to trek out to Dallas with my family, thereby losing another few days. You know it's funny, talking to people not from Texas and from smaller states and you say 'oh it's JUST 6 hours, 5 depending on the traffic.' They look at you like your crazy for basically saying it's a quick trip to go to Dallas. Then you remind them that to go to some place like Houston and it's closer to 10 hours... Then I remember that in some places you can cross several states in just 6 hours. :) When traveling I've always found that fun, to be really close to a bunch of places.

My catch up has been to work on papers, which is more than possible on the iPad, but it's not possible to work in PowerPoint. There is Keynote, which I love, but my profs do not. Technically it does translate pretty well, but I've found it to be kind of a pain and a hassle trying to translate while moving devices. Easier to spare the headache and just do it on the computer.

The last thing I've been working on is an order for cards!!! Yay! My mom convinced me to put some of my cards on Etsy by saying that if I got a big order she'd come over and help me (btw, she didn't). So, I did some research into different Angel policies and decided to just stick with Provo Craft projects. It's a pretty great policy, up to 40,000 units a year, just don't use an image that is copyrighted by a company other than Provo Craft. I've been making invitations for friends for a while now, but it's kind of fun to say I actually got paid for the effort!

The card that sold I have posted on this post!

So on to my card for today!

I've been so busy with other things that I just wanted to make something, not for anything or anybody in particular, just to create! :)
I pulled my inspiration from the challenge at The Paper Shelter right now, use a charm.

For this I used:
The image is Witchy Wryn from Tiddly Inks.
She is colored with ProMarkers and Copics.
The candy corn paper is Cloud 9 Designs and all the rest is DCWV.
The web stamp is Inkadinkadoo and I heat embossed it with clear powder.
The ribbon is 3 Girl Jam.
The sentiment is My Craft Spot inked with Memento Tuxedo Black.
The spider charm is from Hobby Lobby.

The Gifts Patrol!

I finished my Christmas list!! Yay! Weight lifted off my shoulders.
Really quick I wanted to share with you all what I'm getting my sister, it's actually pretty cool. A few years ago she wrote a massive research paper on the origin of fairy tales. With her final draft she had to have a visual presentation so she decided to make a pop up book. When she trying to figure out how to make one she came upon these two illustrators of collectible pop up books. Now, every birthday or Christmas that's what she wants.
Here is a website where you can see all the books.

Last year I got her Alice in Wonderland

This year she wants the Sharks one. (You have to understand, Shark Week is her favorite week of the year).

I've been working on my Christmas cards a lot lately. I've had this idea in mind ever since I saw this digi from The Paper Shelter and actually I colored her a few weeks ago. Then, I saw one of Mary's videos (from Cardz TV) about doing a step card. I really haven't ventured into different folds yet but I thought this would be the perfect fold for the card I had in mind.

When you 'Peek' behind her you see the tree with the presents that just look oh so tempting to unwrap!

The front view

And, the side view

For this card I used:
A Little Bit Grumpy from The Paper Shelter.
She is colored with ProMarkers for her hair and Copics for everything else.
The Christmas tree is from Create a Critter 2.
The presents are a Fiskars punch.
The green pattern is Cloud 9 Designs, the red glitter paper and the white card and stamp mat are DCWV, and the other solids are from my scraps.
The sentiment is K Andrew Designs stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
The glitter glues are Recollections 'stickles.'

Plant Smiles :)

Yay for temperatures that are beginning to fell like Fall!!
I made this card to give to one of the ladies at work. She always has a smile on her face no matter what's going on so I thought she would enjoy this.

I used Autumn Celebrations for the pumpkin (I love this pumpkin), and Mickey and Friends for the leaves (they're on the page with Chip or Dale, I'm not sure which).
The patterned papers are Recollections and from my scraps.
The ribbon is from a Hobby Lobby brand scrap box.
The sentiment is from My Craft Spot, I used Staz-On Espresso ink.
The layers are all inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Link Up For Pink!

This is my contribution to Link Up For Pink!
It's a very pink, Link Up For Pink card. :)

I used Autumn Celebrations for the ribbon, if you haven't ever looked at the cuts on this cart you should. There's almost any fall holiday or celebration you could possibly think of. Kind of awesome. :)
I did a little coloring on the cuts with Copics.
The patterned paper is Recollections and the solids are from my scraps.
The flowers are Recollections.
The sentiment is K Andrew Designs.

Christmas Lists & I'm on a Design Team!!

Last week I got an invitation to join the Design Team for Stamping Dragon Designs!!

It's really exciting because I absolutely love their stamps! Their challenges start every Friday so look for my first DT post this coming Friday! You'll love the challenge!!!

CHRISTMAS IS LESS THAN 3 MONTHS AWAY!!!!
That occurred to me this morning along with the revelations that I have not started my Christmas list or my cards! Definitely time to get down to business.
So far I think I have a good handle on my gifts list, the hardest person to buy for is my little sister (I say little, but she turns 20 this year), because her birthday is 2 days after Christmas. Which means, I have to come up with 2 thoughtful, useful, and fun gifts. She's not the most skilled with finances so I always try to get her things that she needs that she probably wouldn't spend the money on herself. Difficult.
Anyway, here's the first of what I'm sure will be mounds of Christmas/Holiday cards.

I decided I wanted to approach this from a warm and fuzzy point of view. For starters, I LOVE this digi from The Paper Shelter. I styled the little cat after mine, Chessi. :)

I colored the image with Copics and ProMarkers. All the papers, patterned and solid, are Recollections.  I sanded the edges on everything and then inked the outer edges of the card and of the sentiment. The ink is Dusty Concord Distress Ink. The faux stitching is a purple Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is K Andrew Designs. The button is from my stash. And the ribbon is 3GJ.

World Card Making Day!

As much as I wanted to spend all day crafting I really have only been able to for the last couple hours. This morning I took what will hopefully be my last LSAT exam. I walked out a little zoned so it took a while to get into the crafting mood.
I made this card for a friend of mine that has been a little down lately, I thought this would give her a smile!

I used Pooh and Friends for Eeyore. The sentiment is K Andrew Designs. The ribbons and papers are from my stash. The dots are purple glitter glue. :)

Through Time & Space

I had so much fun creating my first steampunk card I thought I'd try my hand at another!
Over at Steampunk Junkies the theme is Time Travel.
So here's what I came up with:

The images are Owlette from TiddlyInks and Clockworks House from Make It Crafty. They are colored with Copics and Promakers. The illusion spiral I found on a free clipart site. The mini gears and timepieces are Tim Holtz. I sanded the edges and inked them with black soot Distress Ink.
